The inaugural Roma Bowl 2026 concluded after an outstanding week of international flag football at Mancini Park, bringing together athletes, coaches, and organizations from the United States and Italy for competition, education, and cultural exchange.
Hosted through a partnership between Lazio Marines, FIDAF, and Roma Bowl, the tournament featured teams from the Conquer Chargers of California, Lazio Marines, and other local teams, creating an exciting atmosphere throughout the week as players competed while building friendships beyond the football field.
Beyond tournament competition, Roma Bowl hosted an International Flag Football Clinic where players and coaches from both countries shared knowledge, techniques, and experiences while strengthening relationships between the American and Italian flag football communities.
A special thank you goes to Coaches Rodd Sherman and Kristen Sherman of San Luis Obispo College, who served as guest coaches throughout the week and presented at the International Flag Football Coaches Conference.
The event concluded with international showcase games: Conquer Chargers U15 vs. the Italian Women’s National Flag Football Team, followed by Conquer Chargers U17 vs. the Italian Women’s National Team.
Roma Bowl extends a special thank you to Conquer Chargers, Lazio Marines, and FIDAF for their partnership and commitment to making the inaugural Roma Bowl a tremendous success. Plans are already underway for Roma Bowl 2027.
FIDAF is seeking Italian American players ages 13–24 who may be eligible through player, parent, or grandparent Italian citizenship.
